Degree or Decree
Degree degree hoti hai, asli ho ya naqli......yeh hai naya nara-e-waqt. This is the new slogan from the land of the pure! What is being said may not be pure in meaning, but how it was said sure beats the bajeelings out of anyone hoping for an ounce of credibility to post a better view of our beloved country.
Thanks so much our dear politicians, there go our dreams of nurturing a better future! Thanks to KESC, one had nothing better to do except kill mosquitoes and dream (night or day) of one day having the usual bijli, pani and the likes, but these dreams have now decided to take a back seat. The current decree is "CAUTION! No more dreaming for the puritans, they are too confused".
What's next! Another tidal wave of yeh minister woh degree, woh minister yeh degree. Remember one of those work book exercises from grade 1, where you had to match the picture to the title. Well there you go again..... guess the basics never change huh! That's the reason we are always told to 'learn the basics first'.
Here's the next bit of learning for me. The only constant is the leadership that will bring about the change. This change will neither be catastrophic nor multidimensional. It will merely be a change to the hands holding the wealth, where the wealth will not exchange in a manner so as to fall far away from the initiator (thus not catastrophic) and will continue to remain in the hands of a few (thus not multidimensional).
