Salma Jafri, we salute you.
There have been many, very many, very bold, very successful business people managing a business totally run via the internet from our neighborhoods, communities etc. But none has come forward and shared the secret with us poor (pun intended) folks.
But Salma broke all those records.
The work shop on “how to start an online business from Pakistan” was held on Wednesday Oct 13, 2010. Salma revealed some unknown ways of making money online with minimal investment and by using our biggest asset; that’s right our brain.
Don’t worry, all the methods are legal, and very much in practice all over the world. Some of the topics covered were
• Blogging – my favorite and the easiest to start. (PS: don’t forget to check out my blog after reading this)
• Affiliate marketing – extremely viable if set up right
Freelance services – meet and greet with potential clients through various work auction sites. If the client likes you he will invite you over for a cup of coffee, send you a first class ticket to his hometown and offer you a 5 star stay.
No honey, that’s the fun part. You don’t have to go anywhere, you don’t even have to brush your teeth and change (although we highly recommend that you do, for both the cleanliness of the environment and the sanity of the people around you)
• Marketing tools – yes very essential. Otherwise how would people know about your oh-so-brilliant web programming skills or your killer designing talent. It’s all good to touch up those pictures of Katrina or Kareena or whoever in the wee hours of the night, but to gain clients you gotta spread the word. The ideal thing to do is to keep a list of the sites mentioned in the workshop handy and keep yourselves abreast of them.
And if all this was not enough, she was benevolent enough to send us free goodies, in the form of 12 e-books and guides to learn our way to a successful business. Some of the e-books sent are
1) The Facebook Page Marketing Guide 2010
2) Guide to Guerilla Freelancing………… and my favorite
3) AdSense Secrets 4 – What Google Never Told You about Making Money with AdSense
Heads up on other upcoming workshops from Salma. If you missed this (tut, tut, tut) you may want to register beforehand for the ones in the future.
Happy earning!
