Inviting people to a party can be a tedious task. First you need to chalk out a list. Once that is done you may want to make sure that you invite all the guests at the same time. This is to ensure that word does not get around before somebody receives their invitation ending in less than ideal circumstances.
Previously most of the invitations for a party were hand delivered. Then came the postal age where people would post their invitations and then pray for the postal service to send them to the recipients on time. In these cases an RSVP was important as that would ensure everybody got their invites.
In the modern era there are several more creative means of inviting people to parties. Some of them are
Hand-Made Invitations
Handmade invitations are particularly popular with kids. This is because kids can make the invites themselves. For these you will need to make a trip to the craft store and conduct a bit of research to get some creative ideas.
For example a plain note card can be jazzed up by punching two holes in the top and threading a piece of ribbon into the holes. You can either tie the ribbon into a bow or leave it as it is.
Another great idea is to add beads, trinkets, cut-out graphics and photographs to the cards. This will give the cards a very personalized look.
Photo invites
A good option is to make prints of a photo of the last time all of your friends were together. Use these prints as party invitations. You can place the details of the party on the backside of the printed photograph. This will turn the picture into a postcard. If this is not what you want to do you can paste the picture onto chart paper and print the details on the side of the picture.
Sweet invitation
A different idea to try is to send Hershey bars disguised as the invite. For this buy some Hershey bars, unwrap the outer wrapping and open it completely. Print out your party information and paste it onto the inside of the candy bar wrapper. Next place the wrapper back on the candy bar and tape it closed. You may want to hand deliver these invites
Sing your way
Record your invitation on cassette audio tapes or video DVDs and send them as invitations.
Alternatively you can send a sing a gram to all your guests. This may prove to be a bit pricey though. If your guests are few in number you can use this option easily.
Thematic invitations
Match your invites to that of your party theme. If you are having a party on the beach, send out the invitation cards wrapped inside a sea shell. Invitations for a pool party may be written onto cheap beach balls with a permanent marker.
Digital invitations
Lastly as always emailing the invitations is a viable, cheap and reliable option. If you have run out of ideas and time, feel free to email the invites to your guests.
